What if I was an alcoholic sexually abused priest involved in a murder suicide, but I died in a car crash while reading JWN on my iPhone. Who or what would I haunt?
Welcome to JWN

Welcome to JWN
i'm a long time lurking of this site(2 years) and a first time poster.
to provide a little background of myself i was not raised as a witness but started studying when i was 19 and got baptized at age 21. a few months after i was baptized i left due to the constant worship of the faithful and discreet slave and the lack of emphasis on christ.
for reasons i'm not sure about yet i decided to attend the district convention last week.
Be happy.
Don’t let religion get in the way. Find a nice JW girl and settle down.
Atheist or JW, all you need is love.

after reading the ouji board thread, i wondered if anyone had "dared" anything of this nature.. i was always too scared to even watch movies with any of this content.
i do read my horoscope.
my great aunt was into the occult and she was told she would die before she was 50 when she was in her 30's.
I always read my fortune cookies. They were always generic and I thought they were cute. It was always something generic like “You will be confident in your actions.” type of stuff.
Last week I was starving and went out for Chinese. My fortune was “Study Metaphysics!”
That one took me aback a little bit. It was so demanding and specific.
family night is held once a year at bethel and all the branches.
when i was a missionary, every year both missionary homes in that country were invited to the branch office, and we had a dinner with the bethelites, and family night.
the bethelites did some singing and skits, and each missionary home was invited to submit something.
I went once but never again, it was almost embarrassing. But this reminds me of an old joke.
Strike that! Remembering this really pisses me off.
When you first go to Bethel they give you a “physical”. Looking back no one at Bethel Inc. was really concerned about your health. The whole point of the physical is that it’s a lead up to some guy sticking his finger up your ass. It’s called a rectal exam but it’s really Bethel’s form of gaydar.
They give you a little robe and ask you to strip down naked. Then the joke doctor spends all of 30 seconds checking your eyesight, reflexes and armpits. This all leads up to the big finally. Which is him sticking his finger up your asshole. If it’s tight enough and you wince in discomfort then he says “You’re all good, perfect health!”
But then later you see someone break their leg. They are sent home. I saw a guy have the skin ripped off his arm because of a defective safety sensor on a conveyor belt. He’s sent home. I saw a guy with 15+ yrs sent home because he had kidney problems. Bethel doesn’t give a shit if you have medical problems.
F*** them. Do you think they would send a GB member home if they broke a leg? At work? While working for free? Slaves had more value.
Here’s the Bethel joke:
Newbie at exam: “Doctor your ring is cold”
Bethel Doctor: “That’s not my ring, that’s my watch!”
i was usually honest about my hours for the most part.
but there was this one time..... i was auxiliary pioneering back in april of 2000. that was also the month we had planned to go down to south carolina to visit my brother, was living there at the time.
the trip was the last week of the month.
You’re going to hell keyser
I never padded my hours; I actually was counseled for “setting an unbalanced routine that could serve as a discouragement for others”. I was putting in about 160hrs a month.
The worst thing I did from a JW perspective is that I started going out in field service without the Society’s publications. Just the Bible, NWT and KJV. I would make up the placement difference by dropping 50 old Watchtowers at the laundromat every once in a while.

ive posted on this before, but i figured i should lay my thoughts out again on the subject.
there are some in the ex-jw community who are saddened because the watchtower organization has turned me and others like me off to god.
the watchtower attacks and debunks other religions on a regular basis, often giving us the sense that if the watchtower is wrong, then there cant be a god.
communism is dead and the usa is a strongly christian, tolarant, democratic nation, it just won't happen here.
muslim nations are fanatical about their dedication....no chance.
it's silly to think of religions as a whole being banned....this is just a witness bad dream, never happen in a million years..
I’m not so sure anymore. There are Atheist bus ads in Indiana now. Just 30yrs ago this would have triggered riots in the streets. With all night vigils live on the news. And lots of footage of tearful women praying, ala The Last Temptation of Christ movie protest.
Now people don’t care. Every religious protest you see is always those Westboro Baptist nuts who travel everywhere. You just don’t see community outrage nowadays. I don’t think you can say the US is strongly Christian anymore. There is allot of lip service from politicians, but it’s mostly just tiptoeing around older voters. How many in government actually go to church anymore unless it’s a staged event. At work I have yet to meet person under the age of 25 that isn’t atheist. Under 35 they are agnostic or atheist.
I don’t see a ban on religion happening anytime soon. But I can see taxation happening. That alone will send the Pat Robertson, Oral Roberts types running. It would also put a damper on new churches or groups being formed. And then combine that with regular declines in attendance. I don’t think it will be dramatic. Probably just some minor tax on some aspect of religion. But like most taxes the government will keep revisiting the well.
For example they could tax property that isn’t used for worship and is not public use. In that way they are not taxing the “Church”or “Place of Worship”, just the corporate offices. How many churches have large corporate offices and high rise residences? Can you think of any?
please folks, there are not that many real jw's on this site who express their opinion, so try not to be so negative against the poster as i sometimes read.
you can dispute what they say all you want and you should if you disagree, but we should not look as if it's something personal when we reply.. i know many have been hurt by the society and i myself am angry that i wasted my 20's and early 30's with this organization, but none of the "angry" taunts and comments i received then are what led me out.
what did was reasoning and logic and any who apply it and really think about it, will eventually come to their senses.. don.
Is this forum for debate? I picture it as being more like a hug session at my JWN support group.
acts 15 "......abstain from blood, and fornication..." .
one transfusion of hemophiliac treatment can use hundreds of bags of blood!
the process uses up alot of blood supplies.
I work at a large medical research company that makes “artificial blood”. It’s not a big market since real blood is so cheap by comparison. Their big customer is military since whole blood can only be stored for 42 days. There are also a small number of patients who can’t have the real stuff for medical reasons.
The Society should just put their money with their mouth is and invest. Either in new technology or in bringing production costs down.
This woe is me Rutherford style self inflicted persecution over blood is really annoying. I see allot Harvard Med School students working in the lab. Funny how none of them are JW’s.
spelling and grammar need to be improved and perhaps it should be toned down a little.
A post like this one makes me miss field service. Everyone at work is so educated and well adjusted. They talk about their scuba diving trips and building new decks on their houses.
Sometimes I wish I could just talk to a Pentecostal tripping on acid while he explains his vision of all of the JW’s burning in hell. And how Satan keeps making the door knobs in his apartment really hot so can’t get out.
